This print features Saint Matthias, who was chosen by the Apostles to fill the place vacated by the death of Judas. While his name is nowhere else mentioned in the Scriptures, Greek tradition says that Saint Matthias planted the faith in Cappadocia and on the coasts of the Caspian Sea, residing chiefly near the port Issus.
