This beautiful, wallet size - 2 1/2" x 4 1/2", laminated Saint Josephine Bakhita holy card, bordered in gold, depicts this 20th century Sudanese African female slave who converted to Catholicism while in Italy with her then owners. When they decided to return to leave Italy, where slavery was illegal, she discovered she was free. She joined a religious order of women and lived a life of simple service to others until her death.
