An elegant 8" x 10" print on rich, linen paper, produced with four-color process and gold bronze highlights. This print depicts the Blessed Mother, as Our Lady of Juquila, dressed in a flowing white gown. The diminutive Virgin (30 cm tall) came from Spain in the 16th century with a Dominican priest who brought Christianity to the indigenous peoples of Oaxaca, Mexico. The statue was moved to a Church building, which later burned down along with the entire town it served. The statue of Our Lady alone survived, the skin of the Virgin much darkened, now more closely resembling the Oaxacan people who loved her. The picture is presented in warm, neutral colors to complement many decorating styles. The image has a beautifully soft look that will add a special touch to any home. .
